a rundown of today

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

– I can’t walk at all today. I mean, serious “can barely get down the hallway” pain (although I gritted my teeth through an agonizing walk to lunch). Yay pregnancy!
+ My coworkers do some funny stuff. That’s what happens when smart people abuse technology.
– Ash and Nicky absolutely cannot sleep when their papa is away. It probably didn’t help them that I was out until after 10 last night, but they were rambunctious, unhappy little guys last night.
+ Dinner with Matt and Dina last night; dinner with Andrew and Kristin tonight; BBG event tomorrow night (woo for last minute planning).
+ Friday!

I like it when my lists have more +s than -s.

someone explain to me why I have a track from Roxette’s “Joyride” in my head, pls.

At tonight’s BBG meeting I actually sang a second of “2 Legit 2 Quit.” G-d help me.

In other news, Heroes is FIRED.

it’s official

I’m now officially the advisor of El Al BBG #1863. Yay! I met the N’siah and S’ganit last night and they were fab. Sadly, I remember almost every cheer I ever did in BBYO. I have my first event with them this weekend.

In other news, next week is Thanksgiving and then our Thanksgiving ride, woot!

In other other news, I dreamed last night about being completely covered in tarantulas. Ew.

moderately interesting (to me, at least)

The rules that govern BBYO have changed a bit since I was a member.

Membership is now $75/year when it used to be $24.
Everything is done online. (This is HUGE. Of course, when I was a member, I was like, the first person evar to have a website.)
Members are not allowed to drive themselves to regional conventions and they’re not allowed to drive themselves over 15 miles to a BBYO-sponsored event. (People in the South Bay used to drive to convention all the time.) I’m not sure if the 15-mi rule applies to overnights or all programming, though.
If a member take meds and brings them to convention, a staff member or advisor has to keep and dispense them.

I actually wonder if these rules were in place back then but just weren’t enforced because of our own regional policies.
